Flamingo Fishing Tours

Flamingo Bay Area is located on the northwest part of Costa Rica, in the Guanacaste province. Driving time from San José (capitol city) is approximately 4 1/2 - 5 hours on the Pan-American highway. Flying time from San José is 45 minutes. The closest airstrip to Flamingo is the airstrip in Tamarindo, then 20 minutes by car to Flamingo. Scheduled flights and private charters are also available.

Prime Time

For many years the best time to fish out of Flamingo has been June - August. September and October are really good months for yellow fin tunas in the 200+ pounds range, with a good chance for sails and marlin as well.

Inshore Fishing

Flamingo Bay area is also well known for its excellent light tackle fishing year round.

Roosterfish, Spanish mackerel, barracuda, snappers, groupers, Amberjack, wahoo and many more species can be found around the "Catalinas" and the "Bat Islands".
